Do you find yourself procrastinating most of the time? I do. Do you ever wonder why this happens often? Hmm... My initial goal is to find a book about problem-solving, never would I have thought I'd read about procrastination. There's no mention in the book's title about the subject matter either, it's misleading. Nevertheless, it made me aware of the common triggers why we procrastinate and the techniques on how to beat that unwanted thing that hinders us to move forward! It's a life-changing read after all!

3 Gleanings from the Book

  • If you need to do something, don’t view it as negative.
  • By breaking your goals into smaller, more manageable tasks you will begin to find that you start achieving these more easily than you expected.
  • Don’t listen to advice or allow yourself to be influenced by non-inspirational, negative people. Don’t let them influence you into changing your mindset and ruining your chances of success.

Book Review

This book is a short read, you can finish it in one sitting. I like the self-evaluation part where you are made aware of the common triggers of your procrastination. After all,

"Without self-awareness,
it is impossible to make the necessary changes
that will allow you to succeed in achieving your goals."
~ Andrew Thomson

After the self-evaluation part, we are primed to reframe our mindset and fix the issue. The author shared 8 mind hacks that help him beat his problem with procrastination. I've even practiced this myself so I could write this book review. And it worked! Gosh, it took me 6 months of procrastination before I could update this blog. Thank God, I've stumbled upon this book! :)

Rating: 5/5

While doing research for this book, the author also shared the top 10 successful traits successful people have. Not all may relate to procrastination, it's motivation boosting nonetheless.
