Intimate Issues: 21 Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex by Linda & Pintus & Lorraine Dillow

April 26, 2017

Well, well, well. What do you we have here today? Why am I writing a book review that's considered taboo among Christian circles? I should just shut up and forget about it.

You see, most women feel confused when comes to the topic of sex. God's thoughts about His gift of sex has been distorted because of the many voices out there on sexuality. Most women don't know what to believe anymore. Sad but true. :(

Intimate Issues: 21 Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex by Linda & Pintus & Lorraine Dillow Book Review

Why Intimate Issues?

If not for my Catalyst (Church Discipleship) classes, I wouldn't even consider picking up this book. I'm glad I've shown up because this turned out to be an invaluable resource on such an intimate topic.

You see, it's very uncomfortable to talk about sex especially in a church setting. (Ah, ah, you can't force me to.) But I believe that marriage is the closest thing you'll experience heaven here on earth.

I'm not implying that sex should be forefront in one's marriage, definitely not! But according to the authors,

"Sexual oneness is an earthly picture of the spiritual oneness Christ is to have with His church."
- Ephesians 5:31-32

How to Read the Book?

I'm aware that this topic can be a little bit uncomfortable to some women. I suggest you read this book in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to open up your mind and reveal to you God's heart on sex.

If this a martial struggle, this book could walk you through on your way to freedom. Note, I'm not guaranteeing anything here. That's why I'm asking you to ask the Holy Spirit's guidance to open up your heart and mind.

Intimate Issues Book Review

I believe that every Christian woman should read this book, be struggling or not. Almost no one addresses the topic of sex in a church setting. Yes, it's very uncomfortable, almost a taboo. Should we really talk about sex in church? Why not?

As mentioned above, many women do struggle in this area of their marriage. I'm glad Linda & Lorraine are obedient enough to heed God's call to write this book. Many women have been set free from condemnation, ugly pasts, and wrong mindsets. They came to truly understand God's heart in such an intimate area as sex. As a result, their marriage was restored to wholeness.

RATING: 5/5

By the way, the authors also shared practical marriage tips on this book. If you're wondering what I mean by practical tips, you'll just have to read the book to find it out. Haha! ;)
