What is Think and Grow Rich about?

This book talks about what everybody aims for in life -- success and wealth. Hill heavily emphasizes that all achievement begins in the mind. Are you success-conscious or are you lack-conscious?

"Fortunes gravitate to men whose minds have been prepared to attract them." -p152

What thoughts dominate your mind today? What's your first response during a crisis? According to Hill, the subconscious mind will translate into reality a thought driven by fear just as readily as it will translate into reality a thought driven by courage, or faith.

The Power of The Mind

It's unfortunate that many men of today are clueless about this reality -- where they are today is because of the dominating thoughts of their minds. "Que sera, Que sera, whatever will be, will be", is their theme song. But, you can change all that by feeding your mind with the right things that propel you to succeed in life.

How Do I Change My Dominating Thoughts?

According to this book, it is through self-suggestion. Which means repeated affirmative instructions to the mind, spoken in emotionalized words paired with belief. [p69]

Think and Grow Rich Book Review

I truly believe that the battle for one's destiny resides in the mind. I do agree with Hill that, you act accordingly to that which dominates your mind. Most of Hill's suggestions are sound. It may or may not work for you. This depends on what you'd do with the knowledge learned.

Word of caution! Be vigilant, though, because there are topics in this book that intermingles with New Age/occultic rituals and practices. Like the psychic phase of the Master Mind principle and the chapter on the sixth sense. Just rightly divide what the author is trying to communicate as much as you can.

I'm rating Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill 3 stars over 5 because some topics creep me out. This book has a lot of spiritual/occultic aspects in it compared to other self-help books in the market. But, I'll leave that choice to the reader on what they'd do with the information from this book.
