The Entrepreneur Mind by Kevin D. Johnson: Book Review

What's The Entrepreneur Mind All About?

The Entrepreneur Mind by Kevin D. Johnson is a book that helps individuals develop the entrepreneur mind. The author shares vital lessons from seasoned entrepreneurs on how to conduct business.

This book focuses on one hundred core lessons, divided into seven parts: Strategy, Education, People, Finance, Marketing and Sales, Leadership, and Motivation. You don't have to read this book sequentially. You can jump from chapter to chapter base on your interests.

5 Thought Provoking Tips from the Entrepreneur Mind

Here are 5 of the thought provoking tips gleaned from The Entrepreneur Mind:

  1. Entrepreneurship is not for the weak. If you aren’t prepared to lose it all, then you should definitely do something else.
  2. Respect mostly comes from how you treat customers individually and the high quality of your work.
  3. Any functionality that is not the core to your business should be outsourced at the best cost and quality. In the majority of cases, trying on your own to produce everything that your business needs are unrealistic and highly inefficient.
  4. To be great in business means to be great at putting out fires quickly. They are inevitable, and one of the biggest fires you’ll have to put out is an urgent customer complaint. Making sure that you resolve customer complaints in the best way possible, so as to ensure that customers stay with your company.
  5. Business is about solving problems, improving the quality of life, creating new solutions, and yes, making money.

The Entrepreneur Mind Book Review

As someone contemplating to start their own business, but don't know where to start, The Entrepreneur Mind is a good resource to learn from. I truly believe in the must of educating oneself before pursuing an interest. Thus enhancing one's levels of success.

RATING: 3/5

I'm rating The Entrepreneur Mind 3 stars over 5. Although the author shared many valuable tips on entrepreneurship, I find some chapters to be a bit dragging.

By the way, this book takes an average of 5-6 hours reading time. The author could have shortened the contents of this book in a comprehensive manner. I believe that some contents are no longer necessary.

Also, the author's ego can be off-putting to some readers. I honestly don't mind this. Just putting it out there for your information.

Overall, I find this book to be an average read. Want to learn more? Check out The Entrepreneur Mind: 100 Essential Beliefs, Characteristics, and Habits of Elite Entrepreneurs by Kevin D. Johnson on Amazon today.
